Tea tree oil is an essential oil used in many skin products because of its acne curing properties, it is created by steam distillation of the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia plant.

Tea tree oil has the amazing power to be able to kill bacteria, similar to the commonly used acne solution benzoyl peroxide. Test have shown that when comparing the oil to benzoyl peroxide, the oil wins hands down.
